Best Bee Keeping Suit and Veil

Humble Bee Veil

I like the Humble Bee veil. It is breathable, light and lasts. Nothing fancy and it doesn’t cost a lot. But it protects well against the bees. bigge

HumbleBee Suit

If you are going full on with the suit and veil, I haven’t found a better suit than the Humble bee suit. It looks fine. It fits well. It’s not bulky or saggy. And it is not overly expensive.

Let me put it this way, it is cheaper than a wedding suit and it will be worn many times and protect from bee stings.

Going for cheap but effective? Try this Mosquito/bee mesh net made by jetland. Not the most heavy duty, but it is cheap and seems to be pretty effective. bigge

WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A BEEKEEPING SUIT?

1).  Comfortable:  Seriously.  Before I suited up my first time in the beekeeping business, I thought for sure I wanted some heavy duty bullet proof suit and veil.  But, I learned quickly that I need something that is comfortable and ventilated.

2).  Price:  Humblebee products are great.  They aren’t overly priced.

*Today I went short sleeves.  I wanted to be one with the bees.  I didn’t get stung.

3).  Durable and Long Lasting:  The most wear and tear with beekeeping suits will be done during the put on and take off process.  If they start tearing at the seams, it gets really annoying.

4).  Protect from Bees:  Yes, you need ventilation.  But you also need a suit and veil that is closed around the edges so that a bee can’t sneak in.  Believe me, I’ve had a lone been in my veil before.  It sucks.
