MY OLD LAPTOP BROKE DOWN. I WANTED TO BUY A REALLY POWERFUL REPLACEMENT BUT I DON’T HAVE ENOUGH CASH YET.
Aside from budget considerations, I also looked at the size of the laptops today. My realization was that there are enough small laptops (less than 12 inches in screen size) that are powerful enough for everyday multi-tasking.
And so, I looked around the Internet for the best small and lightweight laptops. Since I was on a budget, I also considered the price of the laptops.
I listed below the five small laptops I initially considered buying:
HP ELITEBOOK REVOLVE 810
For less than $350, this HP laptop offers 4GB of DDR3 memory and 128GB of hard disk. It is powered by an Intel Core i5 processor with speeds of 2.2GHz. The 11.6 inch touchscreen has a high definition resolution. This one is lightweight at less than 5 pounds. A great choice although it doesn’t have a Bluetooth function.
LENOVO YOGA 710 11 INCH
This is an ultra-portable laptop with a 11.6 inch, multi-touch screen with high definition resolution. It has a nice, 360-degree flip and fold design. It is powered by an 1.5GHz processor. It also has 128GB of solid state drive and 4GB of memory.
ACER SPIN 1
It is an 11.6-inch laptop that can easily between four modes– laptop, tent, display, and tablet. It comes with a pen although I don’t really need that. The battery life is quite impressive at around 8 hours.
HP STREAM 11 PRO G4 11.6″ LCD NETBOOK
HP is a trusted brand and it’s not surprising that it has two entries in this list. This netbook is cheap at less than $300 although the storage is a bit low at 64GB.
ASUS TRANSFORMER 10.1 2-IN-1 LAPTOP
It may be the smallest in this list but the Asus Transformer 2-in-1 laptop can match up well in terms of features. It has 128GB of storage. It is powered by an Intel Quad Core x5 processor with a 4GB memory. And more importantly (at least for me), the battery life can stretch up to 10 hours. This is my pick for the best small laptop today.
