BACK IN THE DAY, SPEAKERS HAD ONE PURPOSE– TO DELIVER GOOD SOUND.
BUT NOW, SMART SPEAKERS CAN DO A LOT OF THINGS.
You make calls. Play music or control other smart home devices with voice commands. And you can even change the TV channel with it.
Smart speakers are really impressive that I’ve been tempted to get one for our home .
Amazon Echo was the forerunner of smart speakers several years ago. But now, other tech giants like Google and Apple have their own versions.
Here’s a rundown of some of the best smart speakers today:
JBL 500 LINK
The JBL 500 Link is a Google Assistant-powered, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth-enabled voice activated speaker. It comes in two color options– black and white. The Google Assistant is very responsive. My main issue with this speaker is the price.
ULTIMATE EARS MEGABLAST
This speaker incorporates Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant. But its claim to fame would have to be its superior sound quality and waterproof capabilities.
In terms of audio quality, the Sonos One may have to be the best in the field. This Alexa-powered speaker has six microphones for voice pickup. It can also be paired or linked with other Sonos devices. Here’s a bonus– it can work with Spotify, which can’t be said of the UE Megablast.
AMAZON ECHO DOT
This is hands down the best smart speaker for your money. It just gives good bang for the buck. It is Bluetooth-capable with a 3.5mm jack, meaning it can be connected to a speaker. It is very small and compact, too, measuring barely an inch in depth and 3.3 inches in width.
AMAZON ECHO (2ND GEN)
Many observers believe that this is the best smart speaker today. It features seven microphones to better pick up voice commands. It is also more compact and stylish than the first one. And its sound quality is arguably better than the original.
